MG’s Magic Portal Theory

MG’s Magic Portal Theory

Although I have not studied much in the realm of theoretical physics, I will proffer my own theory about a phenomenon which I have observed countless times.  My theory is called Guidry’s Magic Portal Theory.  Below, I will outline several examples of the phenomena that I feel can be explained by my theory.  Then, I will offer reasonable explanation of the basis of my theory.

Example 1:  Have you ever seen or been involved with a group of people who are talking/discussing something indoors?  Regardless if the conversation is ongoing or if it has reached a lull, if someone starts to exit the room, then they will reach the doorway (portal) and magically get stuck.  That portal or doorway will exert some sort of cosmic force that keeps them in the doorway.  That same force also draws more conversation out of them.  Certain portals seem to exert more cosmic force than others.  For instance, indoor/outdoor portals or those that serve as bottlenecks between busy areas have stronger energy and therefore make much harder to break away.

Example 2:  People often hold strongly onto the notion that they will suddenly feel better once they cross their magic portal into their home.  Hospital patients can be heard to refuse to get out of bed with nursing or therapy only to explain that they will be fine once they get home.  Or small children will throw temper tantrums to try to get their parents to take them home so they can cross through the magic portal in hopes of making all their ills vanish.

So what is it about a doorway that it is able to seemingly erase ill feelings and fatigue, can freeze a person in their tracks, and/or draw out verbal conversations or spark new ideas to talk about?  I do not have the answers yet, but I feel strongly that we need to investigate further.  If we can come to understand how this works, then maybe we can change our construction or design methods to benefit from this phenomenon.
